We collect only what we need to run the Platform, protect accounts, process payments, and improve the service. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Scope
This Policy applies to information collected through Happy Science Global’s websites and services (the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.
Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Account information — e.g., name, email, and login identifiers.
- Payment-related information — processed by payment providers; we typically do not store full card details.
- Usage data — e.g., pages viewed, device/browser information, IP-derived approximate location, and logs.
- Interaction data — e.g., clicks, scroll depth, video playback, and the pages you arrive from, collected through the analytics tools listed in Section 5.
- Support communications — messages you send to us.
- User-generated content — if you post comments, notes, or other content where enabled.
Payments are processed by third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe / PayPal). Their policies govern their handling of payment data.
How We Use Information
- To provide and operate the Services (login, content delivery, support).
- To process payments and prevent fraud.
- To maintain security, detect abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- To analyze performance and improve the user experience.
- To measure how people find the Platform, including the performance of our advertising, as described in Section 5.
- To communicate with you (service notices, support responses, and updates you request).
Sharing of Information
We may share information with:
- Service providers — hosting, security, analytics, email delivery, and payment processors that help us operate the Platform.
- Analytics and advertising partners — the specific providers we use, and what they receive, are listed in Section 5.
- Legal & compliance — when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business transitions — e.g., a reorganization or transfer of operations, where permitted by applicable law.
Cookies, Analytics & Advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, security, analytics, and to measure the performance of our advertising. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, but some features — including staying signed in — may not work properly if they are disabled.
Providers we use
The following third-party tools may be loaded on our pages. Each is operated by the company named, under that company’s own privacy terms.
| Tool | What it is used for | Provider’s terms |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4Google LLC | Understanding which pages are visited, how people move through the site, and which sources bring visitors to us. | Privacy · Opt out |
| Google AdsGoogle LLC | Measuring whether a visit that began from one of our advertisements resulted in a sign-up, so we can judge whether the advertising is worth continuing. | Ad terms · Ad settings |
| Meta PixelMeta Platforms, Inc. | Measuring the results of advertisements shown on Facebook and Instagram. | Privacy · Ad preferences |
| X PixelX Corp. | Measuring the results of advertisements shown on X (formerly Twitter). | Privacy · Ad preferences |
| Microsoft ClarityMicrosoft Corporation | Heatmaps and session replay — a reconstruction of how a page was scrolled and clicked — so we can find the places where pages are confusing or broken. | Privacy |
| Google Tag ManagerGoogle LLC | Loading and managing the tools above. It does not collect analytics data of its own. | Privacy |
Session replay and masking
Microsoft Clarity reconstructs how a page was used — mouse movement, clicks, and scrolling. We operate it in strict masking mode, which means the text on the page, including anything you type into a form, is replaced with placeholder characters in your browser before it is transmitted. Microsoft therefore does not receive your name, your email address, your password, or any other text you enter through this tool.
We additionally do not load Clarity at all on pages where account information is displayed or entered after sign-up, including our welcome and login pages.
Advertising measurement
When you arrive from one of our advertisements, the advertising platform adds an identifier to the link. We use that identifier only to count how many visits and sign-ups an advertisement produced. We do not upload member lists to advertising platforms, and we do not build advertising audiences from the pages you view on this site.
Your choices
- Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, and offer a private browsing mode.
- The opt-out and preference links in the table above let you limit what each provider does with your data.
- Many browsers and operating systems also offer a global privacy or tracking-preference setting, which these tools may respect.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. Measures may include firewalling, DDoS protection, bot mitigation, rate limiting, and account security controls.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; you use the Platform at your own risk. For more detail, see our Security page.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary by the category of data.
Analytics data held by Google Analytics is retained for 14 months and then deleted automatically. Session replay data held by Microsoft Clarity is retained according to Microsoft’s published schedule for that product.
Your Rights & Choices
- You may request access, correction, or deletion of certain information, subject to legal exceptions.
- You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time.
- You may limit analytics and advertising measurement using the options described in Section 5.
- Depending on your location, you may have additional rights (e.g., data portability or the right to object).
To make a request, contact [email protected].
Children
The Services are not intended for children under the age of 13 (or as defined by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
International Transfers
If you access Happy Science Global from outside the country where our servers and providers are located, your information may be processed and stored in those locations, including the United States. We take steps designed to protect data consistent with this Policy.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Platform after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
