三 帰 誓 願
To devote oneself to the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha —
the Three Treasures that illuminate the world with the light of Truth.
This is not a membership. It is a vow, witnessed before the altar.
Since the age of Shakyamuni Buddha, disciples have taken refuge in three treasures. Today, that same lineage continues — under the Lord El Cantare.

The Enlightened One. Devotion to the Lord El Cantare — the one being who can preach the Laws that close in on the very secrets of the universe.

The Teachings. "When you see Buddha, you see the Law. When you see the Law, you see Buddha." To take refuge in the Dharma is to take refuge in Buddha himself.

The community of His disciples — the army of light that works to illuminate this world. Devotees are its core: the stone ramparts of the castle.
This is not conversion to Buddhism. The "Buddha" of the Three Treasures is El Cantare — "the united consciousness of Buddha and God," the Highest God of this planet Earth, the Creator honored in the Declaration of Independence. El means light. Cantare means the Earth. El Cantare: the Earth filled with light.

The Laws of Faith, Chapter 6
Whatever faith you hold — Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Shinto, or none — you are not asked to abandon it. The God your tradition has always honored and El Cantare are one and the same. To take the pledge is not to leave your faith behind; it is to draw closer to its very Source.
At the heart of the Pledge Ceremony, three questions are asked.
Three answers are given — and a disciple of Buddha is born.
Do you devote yourself to the Buddha?
— Yes, I devote myself to the Buddha.
Do you devote yourself to the Dharma?
— Yes, I devote myself to the Dharma.
Do you devote yourself to the Sangha?
— Yes, I devote myself to the Sangha.
From the Ceremony for the Pledge of Devotion to the Three Treasures
The Udumbara flower blooms only once in three thousand years. Encountering the living Buddha — and becoming His disciple — is rarer still.
The full depth of the Devotee path is not written here. But the teachings speak of what begins the moment the vow is made.
"Once you return to the other world, a guiding spirit will definitely come to save you and guide you." An angel or bodhisattva becomes your teacher in Heaven.
"Your power of exorcism will strengthen when you become a devotee." One with the Three Treasures, you can protect yourself and those you love.
Paths open in work and in life. Good souls are drawn toward you. There have been many cases of illnesses miraculously cured.
Guided constantly by your guardian and guiding spirits, you will be blessed with ideas — and live a life of purpose as one of Buddha's extended hands.
Upon taking the Pledge of Devotion, exclusive devotee-only content within Happy Science Global is opened to you — teachings and prayers reserved for disciples of Buddha.
Upon taking the Pledge of Devotion, you are entrusted with the sacred prayer books reserved for disciples of Buddha — keys to a deeper spiritual discipline.
In a small town at the "end of the world," the Rio Pardo Sangha recited the devotee sutras in full — and miracles began to occur among the believers. This is the mystical power of faith and prayer.
